
Turning a Concept-Stage Surgical System Into a Clear 3D Training Experience
Bausch + Lomb needed a clear way to explain the setup and workflow of an ophthalmic surgical system. The machine was still at the concept and approval stage, which made the task more complex.Prolific Studio was brought in to create a detailed 3D training animation. The video had to show how the system works, how the setup begins, and how each main component connects during the process.The goal was simple: make a technical medical system easier to understand.

We used neutral backgrounds, smooth transitions, clear component positioning, and carefully selected camera angles. The focus was not on dramatic effects. It was to make the system easy to follow.

We started by reviewing the available machine images, setup instructions, client notes, and technical references. The full process was then divided into smaller steps. Each scene focused on one action at a time. This helped prevent the animation from feeling crowded or confusing. Close-up views were used when the viewer needed to see a connection or component in more detail. Arrows, highlights, and controlled movements helped guide attention to the correct area. The camera work was kept simple and steady. Every movement had a clear purpose.
Challenges Faced
The main challenge was that the system was still being developed. Some details had not yet been finalized. These included material finishes, colors, connection points, and parts of the machine workflow. This meant that several visual decisions needed careful review and approval.
